SFC – System File Checker
If you suspect Windows or your hardware has problems it’s a good idea to run a system file check. SFC is a command that Windows has built in to check the file system and perform repairs. Here’s how to initiate a system file check:
- Run CMD as Administrator by clicking the Start button typing cmd and right clicking on the command prompt and selecting Run as administrator:

2. In the command prompt window type the following command: sfc /scannow

3. Let the command process. In this example found issues and corrected them:
